I was sent an advance copy of John Boyne’s new novel The Heart’s Invisible Furies a few months ago, and although I haven’t finished reading it yet, so far it is fascinating. My first thought was “wow, this reminds me of John Irving” – and then I looked at the dedication, which is to John Irving.
